Merger between Intesa and Comit close
“The merger between Banca Intesa and Comit is likely but has not yet been confirmed or denied by the companies,” says Manuela Meroni, an analyst at Metzler. “The operation should be a capital increase for groups and a consequent Ops, operation of an exchange. The ratio should be 1.65 Intesa shares against 1 share Comit. We believe that a merger could be positive because it would integrate the two companies and their structures. Our opinion on the company is on hold for now and sell for Intesa BCI. Meanwhile at the Milan Banca Intesa loses 4.78% in euros and 4:38 Comit traveling on top of sitting at 6.66 euros, a 5.88% gain. Analysts Metzler damage instead of a buy and hold on Unicredito on MPS. “Montepaschi has grown too much without real underlying reasons and now is finally returning to more reasonable values,” said Manuela Meroni.
